  • theli 13:16 fully day
  • theli 13:16 The way things are now just keeps propping up one of the worst scams in the world...the diamond industry.
  • theli 13:15 It would be nice if we could some fully day divorce the monetary value of things from how much of what the thing represents means to us...
  • jim 12:54 Ours were only $150, and are white gold. Unless you get diamonds or platinum it's hard to get a plain guy's ring that's super expensive.
  • paul 12:29 oh I like them aesthetically but seriously $55 for a wedding ring
  • theli 09:58 "four times harder than titanium, twice as hard as steel" actually sounds kinda cool.
  • ladycroft 04:11 i dunno paul, they look like any other wedding ring. why spend 5,000k when you could spend $55?

I'm sick. Of course, I'm on vacation. Why can't I be sick at a time I could use my sick leave?

That's all.

11/21/08 14:33 - 26ºF - ID#46784Server Compromised
One of my servers was compromised, thanks to a backup user's password set to something like: 'upload123'. The compromised user had locked down rights, thank god. But just to be safe we wiped the server. I didn't want to reinstall it, but you can't be sure.

Then, my stack of new servers was just delivered. So, this server is being wiped and reset, and then when I'm back at work I'll be completely replacing it. What a waste of time. All to put things back for a just a few days.

Anyone know of a program to make linux force good passwords on users?

I love open source, we had a problem in a vendor library and we fixed it ourselves. If we had to wait for someone else to do it, who knows how long it would've been broken.

It was only a change to a couple lines of code, but it was very hard to track down. It took me and a co-worker a day of pair programming to narrow it down and figure out what to change, but damn it feels good to have done. And to have our specs and continuous integration running reliably again.

It was like 4 layers deep worth of metaprogramming. I feel like I know our spec library very, very well now. big_grin
